Bachelor of Science in Electronics Technology

Students studying Electronics Technology (ET) will learn and select from a broad range of skills to become well-rounded technology specialists. In our program, the student will lean on systems that prepare them for the future. This program provides students with the core skills needed to enter and be successful in careers requiring knowledge of electronics. Students will have the opportunity to learn the foundations of circuits (AC/DC), foundations of networks, power systems, energy and digital computing environments. Students who pursue this major will be able to interpret and follow electrical drawings, test and troubleshoot machinery, and create interfaces for various computer and electrical systems.

Admission Requirements

The admission of students to the undergraduate degree program in Electronics Technology is based on the general admission requirements of North Carolina A&T State University.

Program Requirements

This program will enhance a broad range of proficiencies in the following areas:

  • Planning, organizing and managing technology, people and resources
  • Applying and controlling the use of various high-level technologies, e.g., information-based business management systems (such as enterprise resource planning systems, supply chain management systems, manufacturing execution systems, etc.)
  • Mastering such technical skills as industrial materials and processing, computer-aided drafting, design, and manufacturing; computer-integrated manufacturing; machine vision and power technology; automation technologies such as robotics, PLC and CNC machines; and graphic communications systems and telecommunications
  • Controlling processes to improve quality, reliability and productivity
  • Managing human resources and developing a changing workplace to achieve organizational goals
  • Problem-solving and creative thinking skills
  • Technology innovation and implementation
